Golf at The Cascades

Designed for Everyone

The MGA has a full calendar of events throughout the year, primarily held on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.  Annual single day events include; the One Man Scramble, Two-Man Scramble, and Three-Man Scramble held on Saturdays.  Two day events such as the Spring Fling, Quick Draw, and Fall Partnership are a blast and keep you busy for a full weekend. Our flagship three day events run from Friday through Sunday, and include the 4-Ball Match Play, Men’s Club Championship, MGA Ryder Cup, and the highlight event of the year at The Cascades Club, Margaritaville held annually over a three-day weekend in May.

The LGC convenes in March, with weekly play days on Tuesday and Thursday.  The Thursday events are slightly more formal and include weekly formats which count for points – the points are accrued throughout the year and monetary prizes are awarded at the end of the season at the annual Holiday luncheon.  The LGC also hosts special events throughout the year, including a two-day Eclectic tournament, one-day Member-Guest event, a Member-Member Flag Day Event, and the Turkey Shoot.  The flagship event for the LGC is the annual Rosebud Invitational held each year in October.  The Ladies Club Championship is held annually in September and is a two-day competition with both Net and Gross Champions recognized.  The Cascades Club also hosts the B&B, Internetters and the East Texas Women’s Golf Association (ETWGA) each year, which offer a variety of interclub opportunities to compete with and against women from other Tyler area golf clubs.

The program is committed to providing expert instruction, a safe environment, and supervised use of the practice range and golf course. Our goal is to provide an arena where sportsmanship, fun, and education allow a junior's skills and understanding of the game to grow.  Besides outstanding coaching and lesson programs, each summer we offer a multitude of junior golf opportunities designed not only to teach our youth how to play the game, but to share the extraordinary values and lessons that only golf can teach. Integrity, respect, honor, dedication, and self-worth; these are the most important elements of the greatest game ever invented.

The Senior Scrambles are the backbone of the Senior Golf Schedule, and are held once monthly throughout the year, typically on the second Friday of every month from January-December.  Entry fees are $25 for each of these events, and cover the cart fee, prize fund, and lunch following play.  The Cascades Club also conducts a two-day Senior Club Championship annually in September.

The club stays active with events (please see the calendar of events). Starting in March and going through November the club has events each month no matter what your level or desire is. We have a wide variety of events ranging from individual stroke play to four person scrambles. You will not find the same format in back to back events ever and are always looking to introduce new exciting games to our membership.

Course History

The Cascades Club golf course, re-designed by PGA Tour player Mark Hayes to challenge players at any skill level, features an immaculately groomed 18-hole championship facility. Lush, tour-quality greens and broad fairways wind among tall oak and pine trees, with many holes set alongside scenic lakes on the golf course, and a stunning back drop framed by Lake Bellwood greeting you on your first tee shot of the day. The temperate East Texas climate make this a yearlong course, and four sets of tees and strategic bunkering make The Cascades Club a fun but challenging test of golf for every player.

The course is rated at 74.2 with a slope rating of 137 from the back tees and measures 6,944 yards, providing excitement throughout your round. Water comes into play on ten of the eighteen holes and there are over 50 well-positioned bunkers throughout the course.  Many in the golf community believe that The Cascades Club offers the finest golf venue and clubhouse in all of East Texas!
